A notable Albertan, Gary McPherson, past away last weekend. I mention him here as he was born in Edson, but spent many years in hospital in Edmonton after contracting polio in his youth. His story is really inspirational, and I really suggest you look him up, read his book.
I met him once during his PC leadership run, and heard him speak a few times. His candour and humour were highlights every time.
His story makes you appreciate what you may have, and will show you how no matter where you start or what circumstance you find yourself, you can do amazing things.
